Creating Communities of Care through the Circle Process Workshop Series

The Circle process that many non-Native people are using today is rooted in the tradition of talking Circles that Indigenous Peoples in North America use and have used for millennia. Different Native Peoples practice different forms of the Circle process. Talking circles can be used for discussion, getting to know each other while building community, problem solving and decision making, and always for celebration.

Creating Circle Spaces in Our Lives

Using Restorative Practices as Classroom Management Tools Workshop Series

You may be familiar with the term Restorative Justice as it relates to the Criminal Justice arena, but have you ever heard it talked about when it comes to managing your classroom and the various challenges we come up against when working with high energy, high risk, and amazing youth who are seeking a sense of belonging and just want to be seen? This workshop will provide restorative approaches to foster community, build positive relationships and a sense of belonging, develop social-emotional skills, and resolve harm and conflict.

The Little Book of… Restorative Justice

“I’ve never met a more real person whose interconnectivity with the human spirit so innately breathes unto others an insurmountable depth of love, gratitude, hope, and compassion. Ms. K makes such a deep impact on the lives of others by simply being herself; a woman who shares her real life experiences, her humanity, her heart, thus making life relatable. I’m forever thankful for having her in my life, most certainly for teaching me the importance of finding peace within myself. Ms. K is the manifestation of the power of balance, and she knows how to help others do that for themselves. “

BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY with me!

All workshop series are live online provided through ZOOM and consist of three (2-hour) sessions for a total of 6 hours over the span of 3 weeks to provide better opportunities for reflection and dialogue. In between each session, participants will be given short reflective homework style assignments that afford them continued space and time to process and engage with the topic areas of the workshops. Written, verbal and visual methods are effective for adults. The facilitator uses an andragogical approach which focuses on the process of learning, rather than the product. It supports discovery-based learning, encouraging learners to construct their own understanding through problem-solving and collaboration with peers. This approach respects the principles of adult learning while helping to engage and motivate participants while drawing on what they previously know to add greater context to their learning.

Workshop series require a minimum of 10 participants with a maximum not to exceed 50 participants.
All workshops can be adjusted to meet the needs of the specific population at
your organization, community, school, youth program, or childcare center.
